Dodoma is an administrative and political capital located in the heartland of Tanzania. Dodoma is surrounded by rich agricultural highlands and interesting places for passers-by. Dodoma is also the center of Tanzania’s wine-growing industry.
Moving around Dodoma is very easy as the place has many taxis and buses. The neighboring regions are flat, so you will want to take a motorbike while touring Dodoma.

The Geo-science museum is worth visiting if you love rock samples and other geological materials. You will have a chance to play with some artifacts at an affordable fee. You can also visit the Geological Survey of Tanzania near the Post Office.
Kondoa Irangi Paintings
These paintings are a series of caves engraved to the side of a hill facing the plains. Kondoa Irangi paintings are located 10km from Dodoma on the Dodoma Babati highway. The caves have paintings estimated to be 50,000 years old. The caves have around 450 decorated rock shelters.
Bunge is a Swahili word that means parliament. You can visit Bunge while in Dodoma, but you need to schedule prior. The parliament in Dodoma welcomes visitors when in session, and you are likely to enjoy the lively atmosphere.
Use the noble opportunity to listen to the parliament members speak with passion and agitated voices as they craft Tanzania’s legislation. Don’t forget to come with your passport! You’ll need it to enter parliament. Unfortunately, you’ll need to leave your camera at home for this one.
The Gaddafi Mosque
The Pink Gaddafi Mosque is one of the largest Mosques in East Africa. The Mosque can accommodate more than 4,000 worshippers within a session. The Mosque has been in place since 2010, and the former Libyan strongman funded its construction.
NK is a popular party joint for visitors and youths of Dodoma. Friday night is the best time to hit NK Disco because of the dance and loud music. If you find the loud music disturbing, you can visit the VETA club to watch TV while sipping your favorite drink.
The Lion Rock
It is not worth saying you have had enough of Dodoma if you have not visited the Lion Rock. The trek uphill is exhausting, but you will get an unmatched aerial view of Dodoma.
Dodoma Skate Park
The Skate Park covers approximately 500 square feet, and it is one of the biggest sports complexes in Tanzania. Dodoma Skate Park has been in place since 2011. The park was built in collaboration with Skate Aid Bosco Africa to serve as a sports training center.
