- James A. Bradbury named Asbury Park after Francis Asbury, one of the first Bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the United States.
- During the first half of the 20th Century, Asbury Park was a booming seaside resort known as the “Queen of the Jersey Shore,” averaging 600,000 visitors a year.
- In 1943, The New York Yankees held spring training at Asbury Park instead of Florida because of war conservation efforts.

- Enjoy the shore – Asbury Park beaches remain highly rated, Money Magazine ranking Asbury Park #2 on its domestic beach list in 2018.
- Experience the Boardwalk – If you’re a fan of iconic boardwalks, then Asbury Park’s is a must-visit. Known for its cool boutiques, family fun, vibrant nightlife, the Boardwalk has something for everyone.
- The Stone Pony – Let’s face it, you can’t leave Asbury Park without visiting the Stone Pony. The incubator of so many world-class artists, visit at least once.
- The Silverball Museum – Part of the Boardwalk experience but deserving of special mention. The Silverball is a pinball enthusiast nirvana, with loads of retro machines, air hockey, and 80s video games.
